#StrefaRuchu: Jakiego radia potrzeba kulturze?
The Lab is hosting a debate about what kind of radio culture needs in Poland. Together with the editorial team of “Ruch Muzyczny” we invite you to take part in the meeting.
Programmes, broadcasts, recordings, festivals, ensembles, commissions — the culture-forming role of radio is hard to dispute. Differences of opinion may arise when we ask what the mission of public media should consist of, how radio should respond to the changes of contemporary media reality, what values it should uphold and to whom it should direct its message.
Now that the dust has settled after the personnel changes at the board of Polskie Radio and the placing of the company in liquidation, we want to open a discussion about what kind of radio culture needs. And what kind of radio we dream of.
The invitation of “Ruch Muzyczny” was accepted by the director-editor-in-chief of Programme 2, Piotr Kędziorek, and the director-editor-in-chief of Programme 3, Agnieszka Szydłowska. Also taking part in the panel will be: Grzegorz Michalski (musicologist, journalist and music critic), Małgorzata Płysa (curator and producer specialising in experimental music and art, director of the Unsound and Ephemera festivals), Kornelia Sobczak (Doctor of Cultural Studies, editor of the monthly “Dialog”, co-author of the book Chopinowskie igrzysko. Historia Międzynarodowego Konkursu Pianistycznego im. Fryderyka Chopina 1927–2015), and Wojtek Zrałek-Kossakowski (artist on the border of theatre and music, cultural animator, creator of experimental radio plays and broadcasts). The conversation will be moderated by the editor-in-chief of “Ruch Muzyczny”, Daniel Cichy.
