Can a sound have weight? A pleas­ant and calm­ing one, or a light and tick­lish one? Some­times music is like a warm blan­ket beneath which we melt with con­tent­ment. “Dźwięko­cyk” is a sen­so­ry con­cert for fam­i­lies with chil­dren aged 0–3, dur­ing which we will expe­ri­ence the sen­sa­tions that come from con­tact with Intibag objects.

Touch, move­ment and pres­sure will take us inside the body, where the ner­vous sys­tem will enter a state of self-reg­u­la­tion. Enveloped in lay­ers of sounds by Mor­ton Feld­man and George Crumb, we will seek out a space for relax­ation and an encounter with what sleeps with­in us. The con­cert’s title alludes to weight­ed blan­kets, which affect our parasym­pa­thet­ic ner­vous sys­tem, reduc­ing stress and induc­ing calm. Will we also be jump­ing and tum­bling about? Of course! But for now — shhh!

Intibag is a brand and a research project. We cre­ate inno­v­a­tive sen­so­ry objects that devel­op body aware­ness, reg­u­late the ner­vous sys­tem and sup­port rela­tion­ships with oth­er peo­ple. We are the authors of sen­so­ry instal­la­tions that cre­ate a safe envi­ron­ment for self-reg­u­la­tion. We are devel­op­ing the Intibag Method, which incor­po­rates sci­en­tif­ic research on neu­ro­plas­tic­i­ty, ner­vous sys­tem self-reg­u­la­tion and vagus nerve func­tion. We pay par­tic­u­lar atten­tion to sens­es such as touch, deep pres­sure and the vestibu­lar sense. We are in ongo­ing col­lab­o­ra­tion with ther­a­pists, psy­chol­o­gists, edu­ca­tors and par­ents who use our objects. We dream of a world where our objects cre­ate a safe envi­ron­ment for self-reg­u­la­tion in every insti­tu­tion and every home.
