Niemy movie

Dur­ing an evening with Niemy Movie, musi­cians and actors will per­form live music and dub­bing for silent films. Pro­duc­tions of world cin­e­ma from decades ago will take on col­ors and humor in their inter­pre­ta­tion. The artists will illus­trate them with music in many gen­res, and give the char­ac­ters indi­vid­ual voices.

Each mem­ber of Niemy Movie is a mul­ti-instru­men­tal­ist, which means the ensem­ble moves freely in var­i­ous con­ven­tions — from clas­sics to enter­tain­ment, from the­atri­cal pathos to car­toon slap­stick. The result is a mosa­ic of col­ors and emo­tions, col­ors that go beyond the shades of gray on the screen. The ensem­ble’s reper­toire includes adven­ture films, hor­rors, come­dies, dra­ma, short and fea­ture length films.

At Hash­tag Lab, Niemy Movie will present select­ed scenes from such films as Alice in Won­der­land, The Mask of Zor­ro, The Lost World, The Phan­tom of the Opera, Nos­fer­atu, The Cab­i­net of Doc­tor Cali­gari and A Trip to the Moon.

This time, thanks to rota­tion of invit­ed guests, the ensem­ble will also “meta­mor­phose” on stage, pro­vid­ing lis­ten­ers and spec­ta­tors with addi­tion­al impressions.
