Zajwert/Błaszczak
Ecoacoustics is a new, interdisciplinary branch of science that studies sounds and their relationships with the environment in space and time, thereby extending acoustics and bioacoustics.
Sound is here both the object of study and a tool for investigating the components of the sonic environment: geophony, biophony, anthrophony and technophony. Dorota Błaszczak has been working with ecoacoustics for several years, recording the soundscapes around her. The audiopaper “Ekoakustyka zza okna” [Ecoacoustics from the Window] was created on commission for the magazine Glissando.
Zajwert is a recognised creator of electronic and electroacoustic music inspired by post-club culture, minimal music and the “clicks and cuts” aesthetic. He combines the avant-garde with progressive popular music. He is the author of the albums Golem (Point Source Electronic Arts / ZOJ, 2023), King Midas Has Donkey’s Ears (BAS, 2019), and Random Roots (Gusstaff Records, 2020 — as Psychogeografia, with Piotr Łyszkiewicz). The artist will present new compositions combining elements of post-club music, deconstructed hip-hop, ambient and minimal music.
