Do you know that stu­dents of music schools very rarely have con­tact with con­tem­po­rary music?

In our school edu­ca­tion, we often do not include the works of com­posers from the sec­ond half of the 20th and 21st cen­turies! The Young Acad­e­my pro­gram of Hash­tag Ensem­ble, cre­at­ed by vio­lin­ist Mar­ta Piórkows­ka, was designed pre­cise­ly so that the youngest string play­ers could be con­vinced that new music con­tains many inter­est­ing pieces and mys­te­ri­ous per­for­mance tech­niques worth discovering. 

Since Octo­ber, a group of 9 stu­dents and pupils from music schools have been meet­ing on Sat­ur­day morn­ings to dis­cov­er new reper­toire, play in cham­ber ensem­bles and impro­vise with­out fear of judg­ment! At the final con­cert, they will have the oppor­tu­ni­ty to present their new skills to the public.
