Spotkanie autorskie wokół książki „Trzy eseje o hermeneutyce muzyki”

Together with Wydawnictwo Nieoczywiste we invite you to an author event with Julian Paprocki on the occasion of the launch and premiere of the book Trzy eseje o hermeneutyce muzyki. The event will be moderated by Jan Topolski, with the participation of Prof. Szymon Bywalec and Prof. Tadeusz Gadacz.

The book placed in the read­er’s hands belongs to the field of phi­los­o­phy of music. The pub­li­ca­tion con­sists of three essays that address their respec­tive top­ics in an inno­v­a­tive man­ner not pre­vi­ous­ly present in the discourse.

The first two essays address ques­tions of hermeneu­tics of impro­vised music. Draw­ing on philo­soph­i­cal tra­di­tion as well as musi­co­log­i­cal and psy­cho­log­i­cal per­spec­tives, the author puts for­ward the­ses on the inter­pre­ta­tion of musi­cal impro­vi­sa­tion. Giv­en the choice of hermeneu­tic analy­sis as the pri­ma­ry research method­ol­o­gy, ref­er­ences can be found to the works of, among oth­ers, Dilthey, Hei­deg­ger and Gadamer. 

The third essay is an attempt to ren­der in philo­soph­i­cal cat­e­gories the out­put of one of the most out­stand­ing com­posers of the 20th cen­tu­ry, Pierre Boulez. In a con­cise form it devel­ops the philo­soph­i­cal and aes­thet­ic con­cepts through which the artis­tic lega­cy of the French mas­ter can be described.
