Ars Sono­ra

At the con­cert of the Art and Aca­d­e­m­ic Cir­cle of the Fac­ul­ty of Com­po­si­tion and Music The­o­ry at UMFC in War­saw, audi­ences will hear pre­miere per­for­mances of works by Cir­cle mem­bers, inter­pret­ed by out­stand­ing artists. The event show­cas­es the diver­si­ty of aes­thet­ics and indi­vid­ual cre­ative lan­guages of young com­posers, reveal­ing the rich­ness of con­tem­po­rary musi­cal exploration.

Adam Falen­ta (b. 2005 in Toruń) — com­pos­er and vio­lin­ist, stu­dent at the Fry­deryk Chopin Uni­ver­si­ty of Music in War­saw. He has been com­pos­ing since the age of 10 and, despite his young age, already has a rich cre­ative out­put encom­pass­ing near­ly 100 works — from solo forms to sym­phon­ic com­po­si­tions. His works have been per­formed by many renowned ensem­bles, includ­ing Sin­fo­nia Varso­via, Amadeus Pol­ish Radio Cham­ber Orches­tra, Toruń Sym­pho­ny Orches­tra, Zielona Góra Phil­har­mon­ic Orches­tra, Cap­pel­la Geda­nen­sis, Sin­foni­et­ta Pomera­nia, Airis Quar­tet, and Sepia Ensem­ble. They have been pre­sent­ed in venues such as the Grand The­atre — Nation­al Opera in War­saw, Phil­har­monie Lux­em­bourg, Kam­merop­er Schloss Rheins­berg, CKK Jor­dan­ki in Toruń, and the Roy­al Cas­tle in War­saw. He has col­lab­o­rat­ed with many well-known Pol­ish con­duc­tors, includ­ing Anna Ducz­mal-Mróz, Rafał Kłoczko, Agniesz­ka Franków-Żelazny, Mar­iusz Smolij, Paweł Kapuła, Adam Banaszak, and Jacek Brzoznows­ki. He is a lau­re­ate of numer­ous nation­al and inter­na­tion­al com­po­si­tion com­pe­ti­tions. His works have been pre­sent­ed at fes­ti­vals such as Les Folles Journées de la Musique, Nowe Fale, and Probalti­ca. He has also par­tic­i­pat­ed in com­po­si­tion cours­es and work­shops in Poland and abroad, work­ing under the guid­ance of acclaimed com­posers includ­ing Paweł Łukaszews­ki, Hel­mut Zapf, Han­na Kulen­ty, Judith Weir, and Artur Zagajewski.

Jan Błaże­jczak is a sec­ond-year mas­ter’s stu­dent in com­po­si­tion in the class of Dr Miłosz Bem­bi­now and in elec­tron­ic music com­po­si­tion in the class of Dr Woj­ciech Błaże­jczyk at the Fry­deryk Chopin Uni­ver­si­ty of Music in War­saw, where he received his bach­e­lor’s degree in 2024. His works have been pre­sent­ed both in Poland and abroad. He has col­lab­o­rat­ed with renowned ensem­bles such as JACK Quar­tet, Airis Quar­tet, and Kwartludi­um. He has devel­oped his skills at the Young Com­posers Acad­e­my in Tici­no (Switzer­land, 2024) and at the Impuls fes­ti­val in Graz (Aus­tria, 2025). He has con­sult­ed on his com­po­si­tions with dis­tin­guished cre­ators includ­ing Oscar Bianchi, Clara Ian­not­ta, George Lewis, Farzia Fal­lah, Francesco Fil­idei, Franc Bedross­ian, Artur Zaga­jew­s­ki, and Żane­ta Rydzewska.

Fran­ciszek Ciuk (b. 2005) — com­pos­er and pianist, stu­dent at the Fry­deryk Chopin Uni­ver­si­ty of Music in the com­po­si­tion class of Prof. Dar­iusz Przy­byl­s­ki. He cre­ates music born from a com­bi­na­tion of inspi­ra­tions from human psy­chol­o­gy, Bud­dhist phi­los­o­phy, and avant-jazz, fre­quent­ly reach­ing in his works for a dia­logue with the past.

Weroni­ka Pal­inceusz, b. 2005 in Radom, grad­u­at­ed from the Oskar Kol­berg School of Music in Radom, spe­cial­is­ing in eurhyth­mics. She is cur­rent­ly a sec­ond-year under­grad­u­ate stu­dent at the Fry­deryk Chopin Uni­ver­si­ty of Music in War­saw, in the com­po­si­tion class of Dr hab. Igna­cy Zalews­ki, Asso­ciate Pro­fes­sor at UMFC. She was a final­ist in the 66th Tadeusz Baird Young Com­posers Com­pe­ti­tion. Her works have been per­formed at venues includ­ing the Lublin Phil­har­mon­ic and the Elż­bi­eta and Krzysztof Pen­derec­ki Manor in Lusławice.

Tomasz Podu­bińs­ki (b. 2000 in Olsz­tyn) — com­pos­er and jazz gui­tarist. He stud­ies com­po­si­tion at the Fry­deryk Chopin Uni­ver­si­ty of Music in War­saw in the class of Prof. Alek­sander Koś­ciów, and has also com­plet­ed stud­ies in jazz gui­tar under Prof. Marek Napiórkows­ki. He also stud­ied at the Hochschule für Musik Carl Maria von Weber in Dres­den under the Eras­mus+ pro­gramme, where he trained under Marek Andre and Jason Thor­pe Buchanan. He is the lau­re­ate of 1st prize in the 66th Tadeusz Baird Young Com­posers Com­pe­ti­tion and a dis­tinc­tion in a com­pe­ti­tion organ­ised by the Acad­e­my of Music in Gdańsk. He has par­tic­i­pat­ed in cours­es run by, among oth­ers, Ste­fan Prins and Oscar Bianchi. His works have been per­formed by ensem­bles such as Spółdziel­nia Muzy­cz­na Con­tem­po­rary Ensem­ble, Neu­ma Quar­tet, and Airis Quartet.

Szy­mon Kra­jew­s­ki — cur­rent­ly study­ing at the Fry­deryk Chopin Uni­ver­si­ty of Music in War­saw (vio­lin: in the class of Prof. Kon­stan­ty Andrzej Kul­ka and Prof. Maria Machows­ka \ com­po­si­tion: in the class of Prof. Igna­cy Zalews­ki) and at the Krzysztof Pen­derec­ki Acad­e­my of Music in Kraków (vio­lin: in the class of Prof. Mateusz Kasprzak-Łabudz­ińs­ki). He spe­cialis­es in solo per­for­mance (par­tic­u­lar­ly 20th- and 21st-cen­tu­ry music). His career already includes numer­ous per­for­mances with orches­tras, cham­ber and solo recitals, and many world pre­mieres of new music. Beyond the art of the vio­lin, his musi­cal inter­ests also encom­pass com­po­si­tion. He com­pos­es main­ly in a min­i­mal­ist style (with par­tic­u­lar empha­sis on time in music). His com­po­si­tion­al out­put includes sev­er­al instru­men­tal con­cer­tos, cham­ber works, and solo pieces. Szy­mon plays an instru­ment made by Piotr Pielaszek in 2025.

Zuzan­na Zaj­da — stu­dent at the Fry­deryk Chopin Uni­ver­si­ty of Music in the com­po­si­tion class of Dr hab. Andrzej Karałow, and stu­dent at the Graży­na and Kiejs­tut Bacewicz Acad­e­my of Music in Łódź in the sax­o­phone class of Prof. Dr hab. Paweł Gus­nar. Through­out her 11 years of music edu­ca­tion she par­tic­i­pat­ed in a total of 64 music com­pe­ti­tions, includ­ing inter­na­tion­al and nation­al events, win­ning prizes in 56 and tak­ing 1st place on 35 occa­sions. Her works have been per­formed in Poland and abroad, win­ning the appre­ci­a­tion of audi­ences. A sig­nif­i­cant recent suc­cess was tak­ing 1st place at the Vien­na Clas­si­cal Music Com­pe­ti­tion, where she per­formed as soloist with the Vien­na City Orches­tra in the Ehrbar con­cert hall in Vien­na Hall. She has honed her skills at 51 mas­ter­class­es led by out­stand­ing artists includ­ing Jérôme Laran, Asya Fateye­va, Vin­cent David, and Nobuya Sug­awa. In Feb­ru­ary 2019 she was named a lau­re­ate of the 16th edi­tion of the Mło­da Pol­s­ka schol­ar­ship pro­gramme for 2019 — award­ed by the Min­is­ter of Cul­ture and Nation­al Her­itage. She has also received hon­orary schol­ar­ships from the Pro Musi­ca Bona Foun­da­tion, the Nation­al Fund for Chil­dren (Gift­ed Fund), the Jolan­ta and Leszek Czar­nec­ki Foun­da­tion, and the Sapere Auso Małopol­s­ka Schol­ar­ship Foundation.
