A Year of International Collaborations

Our Lab is setting sail on international waters. The year 2025 will stand out for an exceptional number of collaborations with artists from around the world.

In February, we invited you to a debate on Belarusian culture and the premiere of Andrey Evdokimov’s Rust of Reverence. The debate gave us a deeper understanding of the cultural transformations taking place among our neighbours.

We will begin the spring of 2025 with a visit to Belfast in March. We are planning joint concerts with the Irish contemporary music group Hard Rain Ensemble. This collaboration takes place within the framework of the Polish-British Year and is supported by the British Council.

Another exciting international collaboration will involve German percussionist Sabrina Ma, who on 24 May will perform a piece written for Hashtag Ensemble and for Sabrina by composer Aleksandra Bilińska. The artist will also lead workshops with Akademia PRO students, and Swiss composer Lucien Danzeisen will give a lecture.

International collaborations will also feature prominently at our summer festival: at AżTak Festiwal we’ll meet, among others, Japanese double bassist Masashi Yamamoto.

In autumn, we will also collaborate with the Croatian ensemble Cantus Ensemble, who will visit Barska in October. In turn, Hashtag Lab will open the 2025/2026 concert season in Zagreb with a concert on 13 October 2025.
