Speechless i Non-adaptive Dance Music
We invite you to a dance solo and a concert. An experience of sound and movement — on crossing boundaries and making new discoveries.
Speechless:
A dance solo for body and looper. The voice is something very personal and distinctive, responding to its surroundings and connecting what is inside the body with what is outside it. Language and speech are part of the body in the sense that they stimulate neurons, organs, senses. Language and speech are connected to rhythm, sound, intonation, breath, as well as to images of that body (J‑L. Nancy Corpus). How can the body be shown in a way that avoids marking it or ascribing meaning to it?

Non-adaptive Dance Music
Where do the boundaries of dance music lie? Are behaviors connected to music adaptive? How can rural music exist today? Non-adaptive Dance Music is research at the intersection of Polish dance music in crudo with live electronics. The duo draws inspiration from the sound of archival recordings of rural music, Polish electronic traditions from the Experimental Studio of Polish Radio, and the application of machine-learning algorithms in music.
