Portret Pamięci

16.01 Fri 17:00

We invite you to intimate, free participatory workshops dedicated to the experience of loss. The aim of the sessions is to create memorial collages. The gathering is reflective and creative in nature, and forms part of the diploma research projects conducted by Jagoda Falc and Dominika Wawryszczuk — students at the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw.

The event is free; registration by email is required

Who are these workshops for?

  • for people who want to express themselves through art,
  • for people interested in designing spaces and forms for those in grief,
  • for people experiencing loss,
  • for everyone who feels the need for a mindful encounter and reflection.

No artistic skills are required.

The workshops create a safe, mindful space for pausing, conversation and creative expression. Through working with materials, participants will create a symbolic space of grief — a personal form of memory and meaning. The gathering is social in character, grounded in voluntariness, mutual respect and the absence of judgement. Each participant works at their own pace and decides for themselves how much they wish to say and share.

“One memory is enough to live forever.“
After Life, dir. Hirokazu Kore-eda (1998)

Programme:

The gathering will begin with a short introduction and the creation of a welcoming atmosphere. Participants will then take part in a brief settling exercise followed by creative work, during which they will create personal memory collages — a symbolic form of grief space. The workshops will close with a summary of outcomes, shared reflection, and a calm, emotionally grounded close to the session. The facilitators will also speak about human-centred design and will support participants throughout the creative process.

Jagoda Falc

An architect who graduated from Gdańsk University of Technology, currently a student at the Interior Architecture Faculty of the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw. She gained workshop experience through, among other things, active participation in nationwide gatherings of architecture students, which she has been co-organising since September 2025. On a day-to-day basis she develops her design skills, combining her studies with activity at the Hashtag Lab Contemporary Music Space. In her work she focuses on sensory design and strategies grounded in human emotions. She values interdisciplinary collaboration and projects that integrate different fields of art.

Dominika Wawryszczuk

She is a graduate of the Interior Architecture Faculty of the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw, where she completed her undergraduate degree and is currently continuing her master’s studies. In her creative practice she draws inspiration from everyday experiences, seeking a balance between aesthetics and functionality. Her design philosophy centres on improving functional spaces aimed at enhancing quality of life and facilitating everyday activities.
