A fright­en­ing evening of the AżTak Fes­ti­val can­not take place with­out a fright­en­ing film. We invite you to a screen­ing of “Hered­i­tary” with music by Col­in Stetson.

Does fate hang over the Gra­hams? What does the tit­u­lar inher­i­tance left behind after the death of the fam­i­ly’s spir­i­tu­al matri­arch sig­ni­fy? How can one work through trau­ma and heal tox­ic rela­tion­ships? All these ques­tions echo through their wood­en house and its minia­ture mod­els cre­at­ed by the sto­ry’s pro­tag­o­nist. Ari Aster­’s fea­ture debut takes up all the hor­ror gen­re’s leit­mo­tifs, but process­es and lay­ers them into an entire­ly new mix. A key role is played by Col­in Stet­son’s unset­tling music and the ter­ri­fy­ing click­ing in the sound design.
