Blask
We invite you to a performative concert based on the poem “Splendor” by an outstanding Jewish poet of the early 20th century, creator of the modern Hebrew language – Chaim Nachman Bialik.
The concert will feature: actor Adam Woronowicz, musicians from Hashtag Ensemble and the choir of State Music School I st. no. 1 named after Oskar Kolberg in Warsaw. The concert was directed by Katarzyna Michałkiewicz, with music composed by Wojciech Błażejczyk.
The poem “Splendor” refers to the Jewish, mystical “Book of Splendor” and is a story about the protagonist’s journey back to childhood. As a child, he experienced the mystery of transcendence; he recalls this memory and points to the presence of God in the world – especially in the stunning beauty of nature.
Taking the form of a performative concert, we examine the relationship between music and the word, and also explore relations between the instrument that is the human voice and acoustic and electronic instruments.
During the concert we will hear: a string trio (violin, viola and cello), ethnic instruments (duduk, zither, cimbalom and psaltery), as well as an electronic layer and mezzo-soprano and children’s choir.
