Grajdomek
A great object-phone, that is the house at Barska 29, will sound with its doors, windows, utensils, chairs and corners. It will sing an old melody, perform a somersault and lull us to sleep.
We invite you to the first concert of ĄsąBąble in a new, family-friendly space. Works by Witold Lutosławski, Louis Andriessen and George Crumb will be heard, among others, and improvisers from Hashtag Ensemble will create a true home symphony. Feel at home!
About the cycle
ĄsąBąble concerts feature new music for families with children aged 0–2 and 3–5, but we also invite older children who like to accompany their younger siblings. Before and after concerts, parents and caregivers along with children are invited to delicacies in our café.
Each concert is based on an original script in which music listening, interactive games and educational values are equally important. In a friendly space adapted to the youngest, you can listen to the music of leading contemporary composers, in a version and proportions adapted for young ears.
Although each edition of ĄsąBąble takes musical tissue as its starting point, it is also rich in extra-musical contexts, so close to the practice of Hashtag Ensemble: literary, visual, social. Events have an interdisciplinary character: invited artists who have long created in the vicinity of children’s imagination will also participate: dancers, performers, illustrators.
The curator and host of the cycle is Anna Szawiel – an actress and lecturer who specializes in interdisciplinary cultural and educational events. She likes to work at the borders: concert and performance, education and play, physicality and abstraction, always in connection with children’s imagination.
The next event is coming on April 22!
