Straż Przednia
Representatives of non-governmental organisations that run festivals and ensembles — such as Spółdzielnia Muzyczna, NeoQuartet, Kwadrofonik and Flow Unit — will discuss the challenges involved in running new music ventures. The host of the meeting will be Hashtag Ensemble.
We will address topics relating to the financing of artistic initiatives and the sustainability of third-sector organisations running entities similar to those with permanent budgetary support. How can one develop one’s activities? Are there alternative solutions that allow ensembles to grow without obstacles? Do we form a community of common purpose?
The meeting takes place as part of the #GrajFair campaign, run by Hashtag Ensemble since 2021.
To date, at meetings with experts — musicians, producers and musicologists — our guests have included, among others: Miłosz Bembinow, Joanna Grotkowska, Wioleta Żochowska, Aleksandra Kaca, Jan Topolski, Bovska, Nikola Kołodziejczyk, Monika Pasiecznik, Adam Suprynowicz, Krzysztof Pietraszewski, Pia Partum, Marta Kluczyńska, Ryszard Wojciul.
The topics of the panels have covered issues orbiting copyright and problems in the music publishing world. We have also addressed questions of survival during and after the pandemic.
Our panels have taken place both live and online, reaching a combined audience of around 50,000.
The campaign’s partner since 2021 is ZAIKS.
The event takes place as part of the 66th International Festival of Contemporary Music “Warszawska Jesień.”
The #GrajFair campaign is organised by Fundacja Sfera Harmonii.
The Contemporary Music Space Hashtag Lab is co-financed by the Capital City of Warsaw.
