Ciałość, love, attentiveness.

On the first day of the fes­ti­val we will look at the body as a place of atten­tive­ness, love and closeness.

In the morn­ing we will meet at a vil­la in Żoli­borz with the cham­ber choir Sirenes, to play David Hel­bich’s No-music on our own ears and hear the piece Bądź [Be] set to a poem by Hali­na Poświa­tows­ka, under the direc­tion of Mag­dale­na Gruziel, with the par­tic­i­pa­tion of sign lan­guage inter­preter Michał Łach. Atten­tive­ness to sound will com­bine curios­i­ty with deep solace, and we will give our ears — wea­ried by the every­day noise pol­lu­tion — some rest. We thank the Sat­wa Joga cen­tre, where con­tem­po­rary music will be heard for the first time, for their col­lab­o­ra­tion, open­ness and hospitality.

In the evening we will invite audi­ences to Hash­tag Lab for three events in which the body is a home of close­ness, inti­ma­cy and love. First, the Ciałość exhi­bi­tion will be pre­sent­ed under the cura­to­r­i­al care of Alic­ja Sobiepańs­ka — we will look at the body through the eyes of pho­tog­ra­phy stu­dents, accom­pa­nied by an elec­troa­coustic lay­er com­posed by Woj­ciech Chałup­ka. Paweł Janas will play “to tape” on a but­ton por­ta­tive organ, uncov­er­ing con­nec­tions between what is vis­i­ble and what is hid­den. Then we will see the orig­i­nal per­for­mance by Liwia Bargieł, Encore, set to music by Lucia Dlu­goszews­ki, explor­ing the inti­ma­cy of two bod­ies in love, fol­low­ing the yearn­ings and ten­sions that accom­pa­ny it. Final­ly, we will watch the opera Heart Cham­ber by Chaya Czer­nowin. The screen­ing will be pre­ced­ed by a con­ver­sa­tion between Jan Topol­s­ki and Chaya Czer­nowin, the com­pos­er of the opera Heart Chamber.
