AżTak Ciało: Ciałanie

06.07 Sat 18:00

Ciałanie, discipline, excess.

On the third day of the festival we will focus on what is most difficult and most destructive in contemporary culture in the context of the relationship to the body.

In the afternoon we will meet in the courtyard at Tarczyńska 11 — a house with a poetic history. To poems by Miron Białoszewski, who was associated with this place, and by contemporary women poets, we will play from balconies, stairwells and alleyways. The texts addressing difficult themes of alienation, trauma and abuse will be accompanied by a musical layer performed by Ania Karpowicz, Lilianna Krych, Mateusz Loska, Paweł Janas and Oliwier Andruszczenko.

18:00 Courtyard at ul. Tarczyńska 11

Poems with music, music with poems

We meet in the courtyard of the tenement building that once housed Teatr na Tarczyńskiej. The experimental stage that operated there several decades ago was associated at one point with, among others, Miron Białoszewski — the poet who, perhaps more than any other in contemporary Polish poetry, knew how to exploit the sonic qualities of verse. With texts by Białoszewski and by Anna Świrszczyńska, Krystyna Miłobędska, Jerzy Jarniewicz, Julia Fiedorczuk and Barbara Klicka, we will meet through sounds performed by Ania Karpowicz, Lilianna Krych, Mateusz Loska, Paweł Janas and Oliwier Andruszczenko.

The festival finale will be crowned by a Hashtag Ensemble concert, Ciałanie, dedicated to cultural oppressions of the body, and also interpreting the phenomenon of the aggressive promotion of a “healthy lifestyle” that sometimes takes the form of imposing ruthless, destructive discipline. We will hear works by Brigitta Muntendorf, Marta Śniady, Jacob TV, Żaneta Rydzewska, and the world premiere of Super Cardio by Piotr Peszat.
