Agnieszka Guz-Tarnowska

Skrzypce / Hashtag Ensemble
Privately:
Wife and mother. For several years, she has been conducting intensive research on the elasticity of spacetime and the volume of the “in-between” moments. Every day, she diligently expands her reserves of patience, and is also trying to grow a third arm for herself… so far, however, with no spectacular results. She loves wild pansies and sunflowers. She collects all kinds of evidence that the most can be heard in… silence. She enjoys listening, searching for beauty even in the smallest details, and solving every knot. She plays music, because how else could one express the ineffable? Besides, “only silence is more beautiful than music” (P. Claudel).
On the professional side:
She is a graduate of the Fryderyk Chopin University of Music in Warsaw, where she studied violin under Professor Konstanty Andrzej Kulka (graduated with distinction, 2009).
As a soloist, she is the laureate of numerous national and international music competitions. Among her most significant achievements in the field of violin performance are: the special prize for the best performance of a contemporary piece at the 10th International J. Brahms Competition in Pörtschach, Austria (2003); and the 4th prize at the 7th National Violin Competition in memory of Z. Jahnke in Poznań, along with the award for the youngest finalist (2004)- In the same year, she won the second prize at the National Auditions for Students of Violin and Viola Classes of Music Schools of the second degree; the second prize for the best performance of W.A. Mozart’s concerto at the 13th International Henryk Wieniawski Competition in Poznań (2006); the third prize at the 23rd International Valsesia Musica Competition in Grignasco and the third prize at the International A. Postacchini Violin Competition in Fermo (Italy, 2007), as well as the third prize at the 2nd International Baltic Violin Competition in Gdańsk (2007).”

Baldini, Prof. I. Oistrach, Prof. T. Gadzina, Prof. M. Urbaniak-Lisik, Prof. P. Łosakiewicz, and Prof. A. Bauer. Wybrańczyk Festival Sinfonia Varsovia Swojemu Miastu, the 6th J. Waldorff Summer Festival in Radziejowice, and the 3rd “New Waves” Contemporary Music Festival in Gdańsk.
