Koncert
The opening concert is a reinterpretation of the program #ustroje and guides us from social resistance that sparks revolutions, through the madness of absolutist monarchy to the living synergy of union solidarity.
Hashtag Ensemble opens its headquarters on the anniversary of the Russian aggression on Ukraine and during the time of the brutally suppressed democratic revolution in Iran. For many years we have tried to tell about the world around us through music, about what inspires us, moves us, troubles us in it.
The works we have chosen are not only sonic interpretations of political and social systems, or commentaries on the reality of the 20th and 21st centuries, but reflect diverse models of chamber ensemble work. “Surge” is a composition by a composer duo, in which we experience the full voice of both creators using new media to express solidarity against violence. “Eight Songs for a Mad King” strongly link form with strict hierarchy based on the primacy of the conductor and soloist, with whom chamber musicians compete. The final “Workers Union” fascinates with the democratization of notation and is a manifesto of musical egalitarianism with the qualities of a multi-threaded symphony.
In dark times of blind violence, every artist and every free person has the task of reflecting on the world around them and speaking up in defense of victims. The artists from Spectro Duo, hosting the opening of Hashtag Lab, do not shy away from this obligation. The work “SURGE” is their voice on the crimes taking place in Iran, and at the same time the only thing we can do to express our solidarity with the ongoing Iranian revolution. WOMAN.LIFE.FREEDOM.
