This time we invite ĄsąBąble to a pre-Christ­mas, inter­gen­er­a­tional con­cert for the whole family!

Do you remem­ber Christ­mas trees of old? A lit­tle gaudy and not always in tune, they had their charm: they shim­mered with vari­ety, and their dec­o­ra­tions were often col­lect­ed over sev­er­al gen­er­a­tions. Each one could have a short sto­ry told about it, or a piece of music played for it. Each one might sym­bol­ise a spe­cial gift: a colour­ful bauble — play; a pine cone — shar­ing; a rock­ing horse — a cud­dle at lul­la­by time. There is also kind­ness, atten­tion, accep­tance — things you will not find in shops.

The musi­cians of Hash­tag Ensem­ble will wrap these gifts in sound, to give us greater joy in the dis­cov­er­ing. Hid­den in the sounds will be melodies that bring us good­ness in this Decem­ber time — like the car­ol from Pēteris Vasks’s String Quar­tet No. 3. The com­pos­er want­ed this music to bring peace to the earth. That is still a very pre­cious gift, is it not?

This final con­cert of the year is inter­gen­er­a­tional — we invite you with your whole fam­i­lies. Await­ing you will be a fam­i­ly of string play­ers: two vio­lins, vio­la and cel­lo. We will crunch gin­ger­bread togeth­er and cre­ate sound­ing Christ­mas dec­o­ra­tions. Let it be diverse and colour­ful, with flair. Just as Christ­mas trees looked in years gone by.
