Lazar / Wnuk — Surreal Voyagers

“Their music seems out­side of time (…) Through its inde­ter­mi­na­cy it acts pow­er­ful­ly on the imag­i­na­tion” — this is how music crit­ic Maciej Kraw­iec apt­ly summed up the work of the Sur­re­al Voy­agers duo.

The ensem­ble, which has exist­ed since 2018, defies defin­i­tive genre clas­si­fi­ca­tion, nav­i­gat­ing between ambi­ent and melod­ic art-pop, always in search of an excep­tion­al­ly immer­sive, psy­che­del­ic expe­ri­ence shared with the audi­ence. Their debut album Seek­ing moth­er, record­ed live at the Nation­al Forum of Music in Wrocław and released in 2024 by the label Anten­na Non Gra­ta Album, aston­ish­es with its full sound rem­i­nis­cent of a son­ic sculpture.

The gen­tle­men have per­formed with music for silent films, but have also played in a dance the­atre pro­duc­tion (also as per­form­ers) and at fes­ti­vals such as Warsza­wska Jesień and Audio Art; they are cur­rent­ly work­ing on new, decid­ed­ly the most melod­ic mate­r­i­al of their career.

“It fas­ci­nates and hyp­no­tizes with sounds rather than repelling with raw form” (Bartek Chacińs­ki), “an album that draws us into its son­ic land­scapes and won’t let us go” (Artur Mieczkowski).
