f.i.m.m. Wojtek Kurek i Katarzyna Podpora
f.i.m.m. is an initiative by Marta Grzywacz. A concert series in which an invited improviser creates music spontaneously, without prior sketches or preparation, together with a musical companion of their own choosing.
The programmatic premise of the series is to emphasize the ethereal nature of music as such. For this reason, the improvised work that emerges during the concerts is not recorded in any way, so that it remains literally irreproducible. Perhaps this genuine uniqueness of the event will mark the way in which we listen to such once-only music.

More about the artists:
Wojtek Kurek – percussionist, improviser, composer of theatre music. He programs custom effects and instruments, processes acoustic sound to create organic structures. He uses neural digital tools. He has released over 30 albums in Poland, USA, Germany, Austria, Italy, Portugal and Scotland. He co-creates the trio Tuleje (Zagajewska, Wójciński) and a duo with dancer Olga Balińska.
Katarzyna Podpora – multimedia artist connected to the sea — its audial space, movement, and influence on hard matter; translator; doctor of arts in sculpture and intermedia; lives and works in Gdańsk. In her creative work she addresses questions of materiality and the subjectivity of beings (both living and non-living), ephemeral and performative forms, and processuality and memory — in the context of recording made through various media, including audio recordings, text and photography. She focuses on listening to matter and space. As a creator of experimental and improvised music (including in the duo PODPORA/KOHYT https://podporakohyt.bandcamp.com) — she works with a significant range of instruments made from materials considered waste, including remains of non-human beings — animal bones, dead plant parts, as well as broken instruments, damaged vinyl records and field recording tapes. She has presented her works at numerous exhibitions and contemporary art and music festivals.
