“Encore” is a chore­o­graph­ic per­for­mance about love with live music by Lucia Dłu­goszews­ki — an Amer­i­can com­pos­er, pupil of John Cage and Edgard Varèse, chore­o­g­ra­ph­er, and inventor.

“Encore” is a chore­o­graph­ic per­for­mance about love with the music of Lucia Dłu­goszews­ki per­formed live. What is love? Love is the pos­si­bil­i­ty of assist­ing at the birth of the world. It is omnipresent. It is a cos­mic, pure force, the chem­i­cal grav­i­ty by virtue of which life exists. It is one of the strongest moti­va­tions. In love, the sub­ject attempts to touch the “being of the oth­er” — striv­ing for com­plete union. It tran­scends itself, tran­scends nar­cis­sism, but will nev­er reach its goal. In love, sub­jects will always expe­ri­ence dif­fer­ence and under­take unceas­ing attempts at union on the meta­phys­i­cal level.

“The per­for­mance ‘Encore’ is my return to con­tem­pla­tive, meta­phys­i­cal art. My reflec­tion turns towards love. I look at it at its foun­da­tions, as a pri­mor­dial, pure cre­ative force. We have var­i­ous moti­va­tions for action, but love seems to me the most con­struc­tive of all.” — Liwia Bargieł
