DyskĄsą: Skakuny i bokochody
To hell with the shopping frenzy and institutional obligations — we invite you to a disco full of summer freedom. It will be rhythmic and colourful, and jumping-spider-ful. This time our guides to movement and dance are spiders — and specifically their extraordinary ways of moving.
Did you know that jumping spiders can leap distances many times their body length? That crab spiders walk sideways, just like crabs? That the harvestman, in a stressful situation, shakes and makes circular movements with its whole body? The courtship dances of peacock spiders are total choreography: they raise their colourful abdomens, wave them in all directions, and elegantly shuffle their legs! We’ll find out who among us can do that… But don’t worry, between DJ Myszka’s sets there will be a moment for relaxing activities inspired by the word “pedipalp” and time to strengthen family bonds.
First we’ll web ourselves together at the art workshop and create spider sweeties to decorate the dance floor (which you can take home afterwards). Come on, the disco ball is already shimmering like a Thwaitesia*
*a genus of spider, sometimes called the mirror or sequin spider — the shiny spots on its abdomen reflect light, creating extraordinary, shimmering light effects.
