Labowa Jesień: Quantum Percussion
2025 is the official Year of Quantum. But could quantum simulations be used to influence sound in real time?
During his concert — the culmination of his doctoral research — Bartłomiej Sutt will not only answer that question but will also show other ways of combining percussion with electronics.
Three compositions created as part of his doctorate explore this tandem in different ways, showcasing the remarkable possibilities offered by the latest technological advances. Hashtag Lab will fill with experimental sounds, unusual harmonics and interactive visuals, all overseen by a single artist.

More about the artist:
Bartłomiej Sutt was born in 1998 in Gdańsk. He began his journey through the world of music at the age of 7, and his greatest passion is percussion instruments. In 2020 he graduated from The Royal Danish Academy of Music in Copenhagen with the highest grade for his bachelor’s diploma. He spent his third year of studies in France, studying with one of the most outstanding percussionists of our time, Prof. Emmanuel Séjourné, at the Haute École des Arts du Rhin in Strasbourg. In October 2020 he began his master’s studies at the Fryderyk Chopin University of Music in Warsaw, which he completed with distinction. He remained there to begin his doctoral studies and research in October 2022. Despite his young age he has achieved significant artistic successes, winning awards at prestigious competitions and performing alongside distinguished artists. From 2017 to 2019 Bartłomiej received the prestigious Cultural Scholarship of the Mayor of Gdańsk named after Gabriel Daniel Fahrenheit, awarded to the most talented Gdańsk students studying abroad. In 2016 he received a scholarship from the Młoda Polska programme of the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage, and in 2015 and 2017 the Młody Gdańszczanin artistic scholarship; in 2020 he was nominated for the City of Gdańsk Award for Young Cultural Creators. Since May 2024 Bartłomiej has been an artist of the French percussion instruments company Bergerault Percussion.

Numerous concerts alongside acclaimed soloists have become almost everyday life for the young musician. Participation as soloist and chamber musician in national and international festivals
and artistic conferences contributes to the very rapid artistic development of the young percussionist and serves as a natural motivation for further work.
