Rafał Zapała — wspomnienie

The music of Rafał Zapała is some­thing more than the art of sound. The futil­i­ty of phi­los­o­phy, a com­mu­ni­ty of intro­verts, ques­tions about the jus­ti­fi­ca­tion of exis­tence, the con­tent of music, the search for com­mu­ni­ty and a sup­port group — these are just a few of the themes that fill Rafał’s music. He was a com­pos­er, impro­vis­er, artist… a won­der­ful per­son who left us far too soon, in July of this year. 

The evening will be filled with con­ver­sa­tions and music, com­ple­ment­ing each oth­er in remem­brance, sto­ry, and reflec­tion on what mat­tered to Rafał and how we remem­ber him: as artists, the­o­rists, and friends. The con­ver­sa­tions will be mod­er­at­ed by musi­col­o­gist Moni­ka Pasiecznik; solo and cham­ber works will be per­formed on stage, and every­one who wish­es will be invit­ed to take part in a col­lec­tive per­for­mance of Roz­puszczanie-Medy­tac­ja. 

The event is organ­ised on the joint ini­tia­tive of Hash­tag Lab and the Inter­na­tion­al Fes­ti­val of Con­tem­po­rary Music “Warsza­wska Jesień”.
