Visual Music
Enter a world where comics turn into melodies, card games arrange themselves into rhythms, and musicians listen for the voices of imaginary animals. This concert is a combination of two extraordinary sonic worlds of composers Christian Marclay and Ivo Nilsson.
Marclay’s scores are full of colour and chaos, encouraging performers to move freely between sections, like musical acrobats. Comics and game elements become a point of departure for sonic adventures. Nilsson’s music is inspired by animal sounds and the unpredictable ways in which they can be imitated, transformed, and played with. It opens the door to an exciting musical safari.
On this one evening, in which the fun never ends and rules are few, expect the unexpected, anticipate the unanticipated, and prepare to laugh until you can’t breathe. You will hear music that awakens curiosity, imagination, and invites play — not only in children. And it is precisely imagination and genuine fun that form the foundation of great art.
The concert is planned to include children from the Oskar Kolberg State Music School (1st degree) in Warsaw.
