Tymoteusz Bies

Born in 1995, he is a Polish pianist, chamber musician, music producer, and composer. Recognized as one of the most original and versatile musicians of his generation.

He is the winner of over thirty awards in national and international piano and chamber music competitions. He has performed with solo piano recitals and symphonic concerts in dozens of countries across three continents. From 2020 to 2022, he was a resident artist at the National Symphony Orchestra of the Polish Radio.

A graduate of the Karol Szymanowski Academy of Music in Katowice (Primus Inter Pares, 2019). He values the insights gained from academic education as much as raw intuition and artistic naturalness, which allows him to move freely through various music genres and artistic expressions.

He has made a number of recordings, both solo and with symphonic and chamber ensembles. Three of his albums have been nominated for the Fryderyk Award (Irrberge | DUX 2022, Polish Piano Quintets | CD Accord, 2024, J.S. Bach: Goldberg Variations | Tymoteusz Bies | DUX, 2024).

As a music producer, he has co-created dozens of hip-hop, pop, underground, and experimental tracks. He has composed music for several feature films. Along with his brother Jacek, he forms the composer-producer duo BIESY. He is also the arranger and artistic director of the Paktofonika: Retrospectives project.

In 2021, he participated in the production of the film Bread and Salt (dir. Damian Kocur, Poland, 2022), playing the lead role and performing the piano pieces used in the film. The film won the Special Jury Award at the Venice International Film Festival and received several accolades at international film festivals. His acting debut was awarded the JANTAR statuette for Best Male Discovery at the Young and Film Festival in Koszalin (2023).
