
Aleksandra Demowska-Madejska

Violist, social activist, producer, Doctor of Musical Arts. Since 2022, she has been a faculty member at the G. and K. Bacewicz Academy of Music in Łódź, and since 2023, she has been co-managing the Social Cultural Institution – Contemporary Music Space Hashtag Lab in Warsaw.
As a solo musician, she has performed at festivals such as the 14th Svatováclavský Music Festival, the 5th Prague Clarinet Days, the 10th H. Górecki Days in Katowice, the 43rd “Evenings at Telemann’s,” the 37th Warsaw Music Meetings in Warsaw, and the 5th Clarimania Festival in Wrocław.
Their double concerts were dedicated to her by: Paweł Łukaszewski, Wojciech Błażejczyk, Weronika Ratusińska-Zamuszko, Artur Kroschel, and Dawid Pajdzik.
While working on her own projects, she collaborated with numerous creators from Germany, the United Kingdom, Canada, Colombia, and Poland. She performed as a soloist with the Polish Radio Orchestra in Warsaw, the Gorzów Philharmonic Orchestra, the Radom Chamber Orchestra, Sinfonia Iuventus, the Silesian Chamber Orchestra, and the InterCamerata Orchestra.
Since 2021, she has been actively rediscovering, restoring, and performing forgotten Polish and Polish-Jewish repertoire for viola and piano, including works by Ety Tyrmand and Witold Friemann.
Since the formation of the band in 2013, she has been a member of the new music ensemble Hashtag Ensemble. She was also a member of orchestras such as the European Union Youth Orchestra (2005) and the Sinfonia Iuventus Orchestra (2008–2013).
She received scholarships from the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage (MKiDN) in 2019 and 2020, as well as from ZAIKS in 2022. In 2020, she was awarded the “Meritorious for Polish Culture” Badge, and in 2022, the gold badge of the Polish Association of Musicians.
She is the laureate of, among others, the First National Polish Music Competition in memory of Z. Friemann in Bydgoszcz (First Prize).
She completed her doctoral studies in the viola class of Prof. J. Kukuła-Kopczyńska at the G. and K. Bacewicz Academy of Music in Łódź. She completed her master’s degree and artistic internship at the Fryderyk Chopin University of Music in the class of Prof. M. Marczyk and Prof. P. Reichert. She also studied at the Royal Flemish Conservatoire in Antwerp in the class of Prof. L. De Neve.
Since 2015, she has been the Secretary of the Board of the Polish Association of Musicians, and since 2017, she has served as the Vice President and later as a Member of the Board of the Sfera Harmonii Foundation.
