Krzysztof Kozłowski

In Hash­tag Ensem­ble, he plays the piano and synthesizers.

From 2005 to 2008, he stud­ied sound direct­ing at the War­saw Acad­e­my of Music. Dur­ing this time, he worked on sound design for short films, com­mer­cials, and sound record­ing on film sets.

In 2013, he com­plet­ed his piano stud­ies under Anna Jas­trzęb­s­ka-Quinn at the Fry­deryk Chopin Uni­ver­si­ty of Music. That same year, he won the 1st prize at the XVI Inter­na­tion­al Piano Com­pe­ti­tion in mem­o­ry of Miłosz Mag­in, and at the Pol­ish Piano Music Fes­ti­val in Słup­sk, he was hon­ored with the title of Lau­re­ate of the Young Artists’ Stage. In 2016, he com­plet­ed his post­grad­u­ate piano stud­ies under Andrzej Jasińs­ki at the Acad­e­my of Music in Katowice.

He com­plet­ed a degree in piano at the Fry­deryk Chopin Uni­ver­si­ty of Music in War­saw along­side an inter­dis­ci­pli­nary Mul­ti­me­dia Spe­cial­iza­tion. He designs and pro­grams inter­ac­tive audio­vi­su­al instal­la­tions. He has been pas­sion­ate about piano impro­vi­sa­tion from an ear­ly age.

He is a mem­ber of the Hash­tag Ensem­ble group. For sev­er­al years, he has been per­form­ing with two impro­vis­ing com­posers, Bar­tosz Kowal­s­ki and Woj­ciech Błaże­jczyk, in the elec­troa­coustic trio Sonofre­nia, where they co-cre­ate free impro­vi­sa­tions, includ­ing for his own visu­al­iza­tions and films, as well as per­form­ing pre­mieres of con­tem­po­rary com­posers’ works. With this group, he has per­formed at fes­ti­vals such as Musi­ca Mod­er­na in Łódź (2009), Audio Art at the Cen­tre for Con­tem­po­rary Art in War­saw (2011), and War­saw Autumn (2013). He is a mem­ber of the Hash­tag Ensem­ble asso­ci­a­tion, which pro­motes Pol­ish and inter­na­tion­al music of the 20th and 21st centuries.

He works dai­ly as a pianist and accom­pa­nist in the Song and Dance Ensem­ble of the War­saw Uni­ver­si­ty of Tech­nol­o­gy and at the R. Tur­czynow­icz State Bal­let School in War­saw.
He is pas­sion­ate about astron­o­my, pro­gram­ming, all branch­es of sci­ence, cycling, and automotive.
